04.07.03 - Being 24 7 Days a Week

They tell me I'm 24 now. Apparently the Earth going around the sun yet again (how dull) means I'm older and wiser for some reason. So what have we learnt this year? Well apparently not so much as can't be fitted neatly into a list on one page;

Working at an ISP is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Somehow.
Saying that you're going to build an online version of Ocean will not make it miraculously happen.
I am not Archgagol the Omnipotent. Not even a little bit. Apparently.
Chili and beans - yes. Chili and ice-cream - maybe not.
Lists are a good way of filling in space or making your statements look more credible.
People surprising me on my birthday makes me more nervous than a chicken in a pie shop.

Last night I finally had to accept the fact that those secondary school days are never coming back. Okay it took me a little longer to grasp this reputably simple fact than others but hey, shut up or I'll punch you. Ah well, time to grow up and do whatever it is that other grown ups do, which appears to mostly be trying to find out and imitate what other grown ups do. You could call that an ironic paradox, but I prefer the more scientific term of "stupid".
